Did your 2019 resolutions include getting healthy—physically and financially?
Fix-It Fairs are FREE City of Portland events designed to help you reach those goals. The events occur between November and February at various locations around Portland, 9:30AM – 2:30PM.
Ongoing exhibits and hourly workshops cover topics such as:
- Water and energy savings
- Safe and healthy home
- Food and nutrition
- Neighborhood and community resources
- Recycling
- Weatherizing your home
- Gardening and growing your own food
- Yard care and composting
- Transportation
Plus, there are some really nice perks:
- Repair Café: Bring one item—a small countertop appliance like a toaster or article of clothing—to be fixed by a Repair PDX volunteer, while learning how to do it yourself. (Volunteers will do their best, but do not guarantee a complete repair.)
- Free lead blood testing
- Free giveaways
- Hourly door prizes
- Free professional childcare
- Free lunch
- Free minor bike tune-ups and flat tire repair for students and families
Connect with Fix-It Fairs on Facebook to learn what else is planned for the 2019 events. And if you can’t make it to the events, be sure to visit the online resource guide and explore what’s available in your community.
